Basic David Bailey

Famed and iconic 60s photographer David Bailey chats on the phone wearing a simple yet eye catching outfit. It's pretty basic, a shirt and trousers, but what makes the whole outfit stand out is his silk scarf worn and tied around his neck. Can't really tell what colors does this scarf have but it appears to be a printed one. Another proof that one accesory can add live and originality to a basic outfit, a great tip for this times in which we live in.

60s Barroque

In what may seem a kind of "barroque" setting we find this gentleman wearing a psychedelic print shirt with matching tie back in 1967. His hairstyle is similar to that of The Beatles back in 1963-1965. And I call this a "barroque" setting because there's so many posters on the walls, with lots of designs and images that create this unique and timeless setting.

Summer suggestion

An elegant, casual, dressy, and simple look for this Spring/Summer is shown below. The jacket appears to be black, yet a navy blue jacket can be another possibility for this outfit. The shades are Tortoise Wayfarers; if the jacket is black I'd wear Black Wayfarers, the Tortoise ones are better with a navy jacket imo. Wayfarers are probably my favorite shades ever since many years (way before their 2007 boom), but for this outfit I also recommend wearing aviators, Persol Rattis, or big 70s inspired shades (which are making a comeback this year).

What makes this outfit casual, young, and fun at the same time is the white tank top. A nice option to wear for a lunch this summer, to stroll around the city in the afternoon, and to party with your friends at a club, bar, or house (without the shades!).

Light sweater

For these still fresh days before Summer it's not a bad idea to wear a light sweater like the one Alain Delon is wearing below, although it looks 100% wool, nowadays we can find lighter ones. Delon apparently wears Wayfarer shaped eyeglasses.

Michael Caine: Blog Icon

I guess this post makes Michael Caine the "icon" who's featured the most in this blog...But I personally think he was defintely a trendsetter back in the 60s due to his ability to mix and blend perfectly well the traditional English gentleman with the rising and new Mod fashions of the era.
The photograph below is a second attempt in my opinion of his famous David Bailey photo in which he wears a suit, his trademark eyeglasses, and smokes a cigar; featured in the first post of 2009 (BTW if anyone has a HQ version of this photo I'd be really grateful for it ;) ). In this photo we see a more relaxed and debonnaire Caine wearing a navy jacket, a pale blue shirt, a scarf, his thick frame eyeglasses (personal want list item), and again smoking a cigar on a pipe/filter.

Beach Club 1971

This Spring/Summer whether you're going to the pool or beach I think it's best to wear something moreless like what is shown on the photo below from late 1971. Forget about lousy calf length bathing suits. Of course one should wear the bathing suit that best fits and looks better with your complexion.

70s American Style

Robert Redford represents in my opinion "70s American Style" at its best in this 1974-1975 photograph snapped by Ron Gallela. Everything in this photo is perfect, the hair, the fitted jacket, the tie, the different colored trousers, the mirrored aviators (along with Wayfarers, classic sunglasses and at must have for every stylish person, male or female; a great investment), and even the car.
A classic and elegant look that can be worn for any day at the office, attending a party/function, or just for leisuring.
