The best party

During the past months I've posted in my blog several photos taken at Bianca Jagger's legendary 32nd birthday party on the recently opened Studio 54 back in early May 1977. Not only is this party one of the most remembered ones from 54, but it is in my opinion perhaps the most stylish one due to its guests and what everyone wore. Finally an amazing discovery, a color photo from that night that shows Bianca Jagger, Mikhail "Misha" Baryshnikov, Mick Jagger, Alana Hamilton (Stewart), and Jacques Sterling.

Others present that night were: Steve Rubell, Ian Schrager (both owners of 54), Halston, and Margaux Hemingway. The night's highlight was Bianca Jagger's entrance on a white horse.

Posh & Becks

For this Spring Summer there's nothing more elegant and simple than what is worn by David Beckham below. Photographed in the summer of 2005 alongside his wife, Beckham is wearing what appears to be a silk shirt (not polyester!), a pair of cufflinks, a nice gold watch, a leather belt, and some dark pants. An outfit appropiate for an elegant summer dinner or going to a nice bar and club.

What I most like of it is the color and "shine" of his shirt and that he used cufflinks to accesorize. I'd remove the sunglasses since it's already dark, but they would be appropiate for this outfit in daylight. This summer the XL 70s shades are back for us men.

Obviously this photo centers on Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (Jackie O), but looking at the paparazzo following her steps on the streets of New York one has the oportunity to see a stylish man. Donning a black suit and white shirt with a big 70s collar he tries to accomplish his job.

The great Yves Saint Laurent posing in 1969 wearing a peasant inspired shirt with matching trousers. It was during this period that YSL was a style icon due to his brilliant outfits that mixed the Safari vibe with the fashions from Carnaby Street.

Peter Frampton

The all-white look is definetly a must and recommendation for this Spring/Summer. Shown below is 70s rock star Peter Frampton, who delivered hits such as "Baby I Love Your Way" and "Show Me The Way", wearing a 70s western style white cotton shirt and what appears to be some white cotton trousers. If you're not in the mood for white trousers then you can change them for white jeans.
