Ties are a must in the wardrobe of any elegant gentleman. They are the finishing touch to an ensemble, create contrast, and express one's personality. Yet, it doesn't matter if your tie has an amazing design, blends perfectly with your jacket and shirt, or its materials are the best; if the knot isn't well done, it pretty much spoils the whole ensemble.
A simple but very important detail, understood very well by Warren Beatty, who was photographed in 1967 by Jack Robinson while fixing his tie's knot.
